Karen has been in the financial industry for over 25 years, working with individuals and small business owners in the accounting business she and her late husband owned. His sudden and unexpected death before the age of 50 made her realize that even though they were knowledgeable about finances, they were not prepared for this unexpected Life Event. That experience helped her realize the fragility of life and the importance of being prepared before one of life’s challenges arises.
Karen’s passion is to assist others in organizing, recording and reviewing the important documents that have a significant impact on the after-effects of a Life Event. Her upcoming book is her story of why she is so passionate about this today, and includes worksheets to create an inventory of legal, financial and insurance documents that can be used to recognize areas that need updated, as well as a priceless gift to loved ones that are left behind.
As a motivational speaker, Karen has spoken at various organizations within the DC area, including Maryland Society of Accountants, Maryland Women’s Conference, Women’s Business Network, and Wholistic Women Retreats.
